It may take one second to fall in love, but it may take a lifetime to know what love really is. I’m sure that Anthony and Wiewien understand the meaning of these words. Let me tell you why. I’ve met clients who have dated or courted or been in a relationship for seven years, nine years, even eleven years before they decided to tie the knot. Every time I would remember thinking “that’s a long time to be with somebody!” And then I meet Anthony and Wiewien who broke the record. They were together for twenty years before they finally tied the knot two weeks ago in Singapore. TWENTY years! TWENTY! WOW! Clearly, commitment isn’t an issue and their love have definitely been tested and proven throughout this time. Congratulations, Anthony and Wiewien. You both deserve every happiness.
Now you might be wondering why if they were married in Singapore that the footage of this video looks like it was shot in Bali. Well, because it was in fact shot in Bali. There’s actually a really cute story behind it.
So, on the day of their actual wedding, I couldn’t be there. And let me just say that there is no better form of flattery than clients who insist on having videos directed by me and find ways to make that happen. This couple decided to create a pre-wedding video with a concept of “the morning of their wedding”. They invited their closest friends, their would-be bridesmaids and would-be groomsmen for a mini getaway in Bali and I got to capture it all. This video was shown in the reception on the evening of their wedding day.
I like new things - out of the box things, things we’ve never done before. This was definitely one of those memorable new things. So, thank you, Anthony and Wiewien. May your ever-after be even sweeter than the twenty years behind you.
