I’m not married and I'm still looking forward to one day be married. It’s not as sad nor as lonely as it may sound like. I have all the time in the world to use it selfishly, to do anything and everything that I like. I am not obligated to share it with anyone and I get to invest it in the things that make me happy, like building my career, hanging out with my friends, travel the world. Most importantly, I am happy. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t keep my eyes and heart open to beautiful strangers who might walk into my life, because I do. I don’t keep to myself or wallow in self pity because I’m not in any serious relationship. I go out there and I meet new people - people who inspire me and impact my life in their own ways. I just don’t go out there with an agenda to tie myself to one specific person. And I certainly do not force myself into a relationship because my glass is half full and I need someone else to fill it for me.
My point is this: don’t let anyone pressure you into a relationship. No one, including yourself. Get into a relationship only because you have found your “missing piece”, the one who makes your life sweeter just by being in it.
I’m going to end with this, “being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you’re pretty sexy and you’re taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with.” - Sex and The City.
